Being With Jesus

Mark 3:14 Then He appointed twelve,b]”>[b] that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach.

Above all, despite the business of our day, the noise around us, our calling, the talents and dreams we want to pursue – desire to be with Jesus. Nothing beats being with the perfect Bridegroom. Jesus is everything. Like Brian Guerin points out in this teaching, Jesus appointed the 12 to BE WITH HIM first and foremost. When we are called to ministry, we should not just ‘go’ and forsake the secret place; if anything, we should cleave to Him even more. Your calling should never supersede the time spent in intimate fellowship with Jesus.

Wake up an hour early and spend time with Him or sleep an hour late and spend time with Him. Spending time with Jesus should never be an option to any believer, it should a priority but not out of obligation; but out of a deep yearning to be with the One who loves us best. Before He called us, He loved us. After He’s called us and sent us, He loves and still desires to connect on a deeper level with us.

Last night during prayer, I told Jesus how much I missed Him. I’m in the office for 8/9 hours and out of my house for 10 hours or more each day. If I had my way, I’d rather be home, sitting with Him and just talking to Him. This morning on my way to work, I thought again about being with Jesus and this teaching was the first one on YouTube when I opened it on my laptop. I knew this is what He wanted me to share. He yearns for us – deep calls unto deep. Yearn for Him with fervency and pursue Him as He pursues you. Be all in. Be one with Him.

I pray that as you listen to this video, you will not only be blessed but be drawn into deeper intimacy with the one who loves you best: Jesus.

  1. Thank you for this post. Such a timely message. This speaks directly to my circumstance. Sometimes, the trials we face are divinely God’s purpose and will for our lives. We must learn to embrace the time given to us to be wih the Lord because it is the training ground for ministry.

    1. You’re very welcome Yolanda. 🙂 Choose to see the trials as stepping stone to your blessing/destiny. Trials are part of our journey sometimes, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what you can learn from them and to give strength to persevere. Praying for you. He’s got it—He’s got you!
