The Spotless Bride

Genesis 3:8  And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Yesterday afternoon I had an interesting moment with the Lord. I was thinking about something a friend and I had talked about and had an impression in my spirit of the Lord walking in the garden, looking and seeking for His bride. Immediately  Genesis 3: 8 was impressed in my spirit and I looked it up. In this scripture, the Lord was walking in the garden in the cool of day looking for Adam and Eve who were hiding because they had sinned. The way He impressed what He wanted to convey is; He is looking for the bride but she is not spotless.

I wanted to weep. My heart broke for the bride as I felt the Father’s heart for His beloved pour into mine. He yearns for the bride to wake up, to be spotless and be ready for the Bridegroom. Jesus is coming back whether we are ready or not. The Bridegroom is coming for His bride.

Ephesians 5:27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

I wondered why He’d used the garden of Eden as the backdrop of His message, I mean what does it have to do with the bride? the picture He painted is – an unkept garden goes to waste but a well tended garden bears fruit. Isn’t that the perfect picture of what our hearts should look like? Shouldn’t we tend to our ‘gardens’ and make sure that when He walks in the cool of day and calls our name, we will not hide but run to Him because we are spotless.

I will leave you with this – Is your house in order? When the Bridegroom comes, will there be room for Him?

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
