Journey

1 Peter 1:18-21 Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God. It cost God plenty to get you out of that dead-end, empty-headed life you grew up in. He paid with Christ’s sacred blood, you know. He died like an unblemished, sacrificial lamb. And this was no afterthought. Even though it has only lately—at the end of the ages—become public knowledge, God always knew he was going to do this for you. It’s because of this sacrificed Messiah, whom God then raised from the dead and glorified, that you trust God, that you know you have a future in God (MSG)

A few weeks ago while driving to work, I became aware of traffic and how it was flowing. I felt my spirit stirred up and knew the Lord was up to something. I kept driving and waited for Him to speak. As I approached a red light, He said, ‘Some people are on a journey, they’ve been traveling for a while and they are getting tired.”

When I stopped at the red light, He proceeded to tell me how some have come to a ‘red light’ in their journeys and they are not sure whether to keep going, make a left or right. They have prayed, fasted and waited and some have began to question if the path they are on is truly of God. The battle has been intense and relief seemed too far away. They couldn’t see the horizon any more. They bore scars from battles and some were done waiting – they were quitting or aborting the promise.

I want to encourage those of you who this applies to – If you could just hang in there and keep pressing, you will see your reward. You will inherit the land of promise. Don’t let crossing the red sea overwhelm you, don’t allow the battles that have come against you to overtake you. Don’t listen to the voice of the enemy – when he says you won’t make, or you won’t receive your reward or make you think you’re crazy for believing the dream God has put will never be fulfilled. Don’t look back, don’t go back to ‘Egypt’. Don’t settle because you’ve come across a patch of green grass because that is not your destiny but provision for the journey. Remember Israel, after crossing the red sea, they had to keep going. However, they grew weary and they murmured, they forgot the One who had delivered them from the land of captivity with a mighty hand – the result was wandering for 40 years in the wilderness. (Exodus 14-18…)

Beloved, don’t give up. Don’t murmur. Don’t wish for the fruit and fat of Egypt. Don’t you go to the left or right but press keep forward. Remember He who promised is faithful to fulfill His word. He is not man that He should lie. He does not make a promise then leave you to your own devises. His dream, his vision is His to fulfill. Keep your eyes on Him, He will bring it to pass. The journey is part of the process. Ask what you can learn from it. Ask how you can learn from it. Do not  give up. Have faith. Trust Him. Stay the course and travel the path He has chosen for you. Pray. Pray. Pray and remember, if He spoke it, He will fulfill it. His word is life giving. (Genesis 1:3)

I’m praying for you – that you will keep pressing forward and your eyes will remain fixed on Him.

~ Much love and blessings

    1. Thank you!! I’m realizing more and more the journey isn’t half as bad as we sometimes make it to be. With Christ in the middle, it’s an amazing adventure and we get to learn and know how much authority we have over storms, trials and battles that come our way. God bless you too!
